How the tournament is structured
Sixty-four nations enter the U-20 World Cup, split into sixteen groups of four. The top two from each group go through to a thirty-two team knockout. A squad may register twenty-three players, with three more permitted at the manager's discretion, so the lists below can run wider than a matchday eleven. Where a nation shows only one or two names, that is every player the series has introduced from that side so far.
